So I just installed the module from the vault and I am sure I did something wrong but I am not sure what.
When I start NWN2 now the start page where you select new game, load game etc., now has a Planescape skin and I can't read any of the selections (i.e. new game). I can still choose items on the menu but I cant read anything on the menus.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

You're missing the fonts, or have them installed improperly. We can't do this for you without an auto-installer (which is planned for the final release), and custom fonts do not read from the player-side game folder. You can look inside the my docs game folder, in UI/default/fonts folder, and see the four fonts there. They go in the exact same place in your main game folder (i.e., where your game really is installed at). After that you should see the print as it's supposed to be IG.
Hope that helps. |

i've installed them in the game folder (UI/default/fonts) and they are also in my docs folder - but the game can't read them somehow. |

I have the exact same problem. No fonts are showing.
By the way, what files do I need to remove to get my old GUI back? |

*Sends OEI his sincere thanks for not taking care of the fonts issue he reported 18 months back, and making game life and custom UI appearances hard on everybody*
You'd have to remove all the UI files, except the cant dictionary ones, to get your old UI back. This includes XML and TGA's both. Sorry, I don't have a list handy, I never anticipated this question. |

Since there is no installer, and uninstaller, how could you not anticipate my question?
Perhaps you should make that list, since this installation of Purgatorio makes the NWN2 start screens totally unusable. |

If you want to delete and get on with life, delete your UI/default folder. Enjoy your default fonts and UI. If you want it to sound like your old UI as well, delete the Purgatorio file music/nx2_mus_maintheme.bmu.
O.K......if you want to help me solve the issue, I ask again: any files in the override folder? If so, please remove them and run it again. And you have folders like Neverwinter Nights 2/Campaigns/Purgatorio, not folders like Neverwinter Nights 2/Purgatorio_030710/Campaigns/Purgatorio?
I have an extracted archive of the Vault release for a game now, 100% same as 200+ people have installed this week, and no issue as reported. Again, I cannot fix a bug I cannot reproduce. |

I have a volunteer to make an installer for our final package, one of the community's masters. I won't mention his name, cause I haven't confirmed in a while--but he's a great guy too and I'm pretty sure he'll still help.
Obviously his name does not equate to mine. If a majority of the community expresses the need for such an installer, I'll do my best to make something for this version. Then you can laugh about my kindergarten installer techniques. |

I have the same problem.
I put the fonts in game folder (c:\program files\......\UI\default\fonts ) where the game is installed.
I put them also in corresponding folder that is in "my documents".
I've even installed them in c:\WINDOWS\Fonts, still no luck, can't see anything written in them.
If it's important my game is
NWN2 + MOB + SOZ (patch 1.23) |

Is your override folder clean? You've opened your user install and it is properly installed? You have a Neverwinter Nights 2/Campaigns/Purgatorio folder? You do not have a Neverwinter Nights 2/ Purgatorio_030710 folder, full of mod files?
I'm sorry to keep asking, but so far nobody has responded and this is crucial knowledge in tracking it down. |

No files in the overrides directory: check!
Purgatorio folder in Campaigns folder looks alright: check!
Tried to install the fonts to windows. No change: check! |

I guess there is nothing else I can try? I am deleting all Purgatorio files now. Will try this mod when it's functional and working. Good luck! |

Wait, it woks for me now.
What I did is this.
I copied ui folder from Purgatorio files in override folder and it works.
Try that first. |

Thanks for the prompt feedback, it is appreciated. I just tried to install things in a dummy folder too (instead of the right one) and all it gave me was the default SoZ screens.
I keep looking to see, if there's something we have, you don't. Not everybody is reporting this issue though
The only thing I can see, a fleeting possibility, is that my main install is not on the same drive as the user and purg files. How this could have any impact, I have no idea. It's the only difference I've seen so far, and I'm left to clutch at straws in the meantime.
I'll try making up a fontfamily.xml that uses no custom fonts at all. Maybe that can help you all out? I won't be able to test that it works for you; only if it works IG or not. |

If one of you with the problem could test this for me, I'd be grateful. First, you'd want to make a backup of your existing (user install) / UI/default/fontfamily.xml, and put it in a safe (non game folder) place. Just in case this isn't the issue. Remember, I'm clutching at straws, trying to decipher a bug I cannot reproduce despite hours of effort.
Then, extract and drop this fontfamily.xml in its place and try the game. I revert from the custom Exocet fonts to the NWN2_Main set in all cases. If this is really a fonts issue, there is no reason this should not fix it. |
